Cyprus donates €175,000 to CMP

The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) wishes to express its sincere thanks to the Republic of Cyprus for its donation of €175,000 made yesterday. This donation brings the Republic of Cyprus’ financial assistance to CMP to a total of €3,110,700 since 2005.

CMP reports a first case of COVID-19

The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) wishes to inform that it received confirmation today that one CMP staff member has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). Subsequently, and in full accordance with CMP’s standard operating procedures and COVID-19 protocols, all other staff members who were in close contact with the individual have also been placed in strict isolation for 14 days. Contact tracing has been conducted of all staff members who the individual has come into contact with during the last week.

Germany donates €100,000 to CMP

The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) wishes to express its sincere thanks to the Federal Republic of Germany for its generous donation of €100,000. This donation brings the German financial assistance to the CMP to a total of €700,000 since 2006.

Turkey donates 100,000 US dollars to CMP

The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) wishes to express its sincere thanks to Turkey for its generous donation of 100,000 US dollars (EUR 84,500). This donation brings the Turkish financial assistance to the CMP to a total of EUR 1,082,500 over the past thirteen years.

CMP confirms that operations are running normally

In view of reports that appeared in the media this week, the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) would like to clarify its operations. The Committee’s bicommunal excavations resumed on 2 July 2020 after the lifting of COVID-19 related restrictions on crossing points in Cyprus. CMP also confirms that its Anthropological Laboratory resumed its analyses and identification of missing persons on 22 June 2020.
