CMP Members hold talks in London
(Nicosia, 27 September 2017) – From 25 to 27 September 2017, the three CMP Members Gülden Plümer Kücük, Nestoras Nestoros and Paul-Henri Arni held talks in London with officials from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Ministry of Defence and the National Archives as well as with British Members of Parliament with an interest in Cyprus. The main aim of these meetings was to seek further cooperation from British authorities with regard to their Cyprus-related archives in order to prepare the ground for a forthcoming mission to London by the CMP Archival Research Team. This visit is part of the overall CMP strategy to seek additional information on possible burial sites from archives of twelve countries and two international organisations who were involved in Cyprus from 1963-64 and 1974.
The CMP Members also met with representatives of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Associations in the UK to brief them on the work of the Committee and request their assistance in obtaining information on potential burial sites of missing persons.
