CMP and ICRC open an international expert workshop on Missing Persons in Nicosia
The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are opening an international expert workshop Mechanisms on Missing Persons: Clarifying the Fate and Supporting Families. This event is held at the Ledra Palace Hotel in Nicosia, Cyprus, from 16 to 17 October 2019. Over 60 participants from 29 countries are attending.
This expert workshop is part of a worldwide effort launched by the ICRC on the topic of missing persons and Nicosia was selected as one of the five global venues to host experts. The specific purpose of this workshop is to bring together representatives and experts who are involved with the establishment of effective mechanisms on missing persons in order to draw on lessons learnt and to improve the humanitarian response in several countries and context
