The Government of the Netherlands contributes €250,000 to CMP

(Nicosia, 18 June 2009) – The Government of the Netherlands generously contributed another EUR 250,000 for the CMP Project on the Exhumation, Identification and Return of Remains of Missing Persons in Cyprus.
While signing the arrangement for the donation between the Dutch government and the Committee on Missing Persons at the CMP Anthropological Laboratory in the UNPA, the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Jan Eric van den Berg, said: “A contribution to heal the wounds of the past, hoping to help open the doors to the future”.
The three Members of the CMP – Turkish Cypriot Member Gülden Plümer Küçük, Greek Cypriot Member Elias Georgiades and Third Member Christophe Girod – also addressed the media and thanked the Government of the Netherlands for its generous and continuing support for the work of the CMP.
This is the second donation of the same magnitude by the government of the Netherlands in support of the CMP Project on the Exhumation, Identification and Return of Remains of Missing Persons in Cyprus.
