Bruce Koepke

Bruce Koepke is the Acting UN Member of the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus since 1 September 2023.

Bruce Koepke, an Australian/German national, has been employed with CMP since 2018 in the function of Committee Secretary and Advisor to the UN Member. Prior to his arrival in Cyprus, Bruce worked with the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), including as the Head of the Tehran Office in Iran, Acting Head of the Joint Analysis and Policy Unit in Kabul, and as a Political Affairs Officer. He has also worked as the desk officer for Yemen at UNOCHA’s Coordination and Response Division in UNHQ, New York, and as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer in Baghdad, Iraq. Bruce was a Senior Researcher with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’s Armed Conflict and Conflict Management Programme in Sweden from 2012 to 2014.

Mr. Koepke holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the Australian National University in Canberra and a MA from Monash University in Melbourne.
