Religious leaders visit the CMP Lab and record a joint appeal

Today, Archbishop Chrysostomos II of the Church of Cyprus, Dr Talip Atalay,Mufti of Cyprus, Archbishop Soueif of the Maronite Church of Cyprus, also representing the Latin Patriarchal Vicar and Representative of the Apostolic Nunciature in Cyprus, and the representative of Archbishop Nareg of the Armenian Orthodox Church of Cyprus visited the CMP laboratory accompanied by Ambassador Klas Gierow of Sweden and met with the CMP Members and scientists. The visit was organized within the framework of the Religious Track of the Cyprus Peace Process under the Auspices of the Embassy of Sweden

They were briefed on the progress made, and the challenges faced, by the Committee. During their visit, the religious leaders also recorded a joint appeal calling on Cypriots of all creeds to provide information to the CMP on possible burial sites.

The Members of the CMP would like to express their gratitude to the religious leaders of Cyprus for their important support of the Committee’s bicommunal humanitarian work.
