CMP Members attend an international conference in Buenos Aires
(Nicosia, 16 March 2018) From 14 to 16 March, CMP Members attended an international conference on Archives and Human Rights in Buenos Aires. Organised by UNESCO, the Ministry of Justice of Argentina and the NGO Swisspeace, the event brought together practitioners from over twenty countries specialized in documenting human rights violations during and after political violence and conflict. The conference presented four topics: current use of human rights archives, access and accessibility of archives, security and preservation of archives at risk and new challenges for human rights archives.
The CMP Members presented lessons learned from CMP's archive research project launched in 2017 that aims at finding information on possible burial sites of missing persons in Cyprus from twelve countries and two international organizations.
