Financial Needs Requirements

The CMP Project on the Exhumation, Identification and Return of Remains of Missing Persons in Cyprus is an endeavour costing approximately US$ 3 million per year.

This figure does not include the substantial contributions made by both the Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots over the past three years:

  • Investigation teams (collection of witness accounts and mapping of burial sites);
  • Bi-Communal Scientific Team (Cypriot archaeologists and anthropologists were paid by their respective Greek Cypriot or Turkish Cypriot employer until the CMP was able to include them on its payroll);
  • Most of the the logistics for exhumations.
