Phase I - Archaeological Phase
Exhumations are carried out on both sides of the buffer zone by bi-communal teams of over 55 Cypriot archaeologists and anthropologists. Throughout 2006 and 2007, they worked under the general supervision and coordination of international experts from the Equipo Argentino de Anthropologia Forense (EAAF - Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team). Since the beginning of 2008, the CMP Bi-Communal Team is functioning autonomously (6 teams in th north and 2 teams in the south). EAAF continues to be involved in the project for quality control purposes.
